PREREQUISITE
We expect you to have some prior knowledge about Scrum and we expect you to have read the “Scrum Guide” on ScrumGuides.org prior to class. It would also be beneficial for you if you read one of Ken Schwaber’s books.
HOW TO REGISTER
Individuals wishing to attend this virtual, online Scrum certification course should register on this site.
COURSE MATERIAL
Participants will receive electronic course material before the first day of class. The material is in English and will change from training class to training class. The material will be enhanced by more slides, videos and other media in case the trainers will find this useful during class.
GOAL
Being a ScrumMaster demands a lot of skill and can at first sight look like a trivial challenge. However, once an organization begins the journey to transform, there will be impediment after impediment that will challenge the implementation of Scrum. So to use Scrum, using “The Art of the Possible,” there needs to be skilled ScrumMasters to take on this challenge.
Each individual is trained to be able to assume the following responsibilities: Remove the barriers between development and business (ProductOwner) so the business directly drives development; Teach the business how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum; Improve the lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and empowerment; Improve the productivity of the development team in any way possible; and, Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable
TRAINING
The training is completed with several exercises. Be prepared for hands-on, hard work. The training will give you the feeling of Scrum itself.
How Is the Online Course Delivered?
The course will be delivered online and is designed to replicate the key elements of live classes but note – this is not just hours of self-study. That wouldn’t be a great learning experience.
Instead, I’ve taken the same materials you’d learn if you came to one of my in-person classes, and adapted them for a virtual experience.
The course is a mixture of:
- Live exercises and discussions
- Video
- Small break-out groups
- Short assignments
During these sessions, there will be live discussions and group exercises facilitated via the Zoom video conferencing platform. Zoom is an easy to use online meeting and video conferencing software and you’ll receive full instructions about how to join your online class after you register.
Before the live class, you will receive, in advance, some materials to review and videos to watch for that specific class. You will need to watch those videos before you attend the live class so you are prepared to discuss them.
Only Register If You Can Make the Live Classes
To become certified you must attend the live classes just like you would for an in-person class. Be present and do not work on other things while in class.
If you’re unable to commit to this at this time, register here to find out when future virtual classes may become available.
This Is a Fully Certified ScrumMaster Course
We are excited to deliver this course and have done everything to make it the best possible experience. The live online sessions will be mostly exercise and discussion with just enough introduction from us to set up each new exercise.
Once you’ve worked your way through the materials and live class sessions, you’ll have everything you need to take the CSM exam, and once you pass the exam, you’ll be a Certified ScrumMaster.
