CERTIFIED SCRUM MASTER COURSE DESCRIPTION

PREREQUISITE

We expect you to have some prior knowledge about Scrum and we expect you to have read the “Scrum Guide” on ScrumGuides.org prior to class. It would also be beneficial for you if you read one of Ken Schwaber’s books.

HOW TO REGISTER

Individuals wishing to attend this Certified Scrum Master class should register on this site.

CERTIFIED SCRUMMASTER COURSE MATERIAL

Participants will receive printed and bounded course material at the first day of class. The material will be enhanced by more information thru exercises, videos and other media.

GOAL

Being a ScrumMaster demands a lot of skill and can at first sight look like a trivial challenge. However, once starting the journey to transform the organization there will be impediment after impediment that will challenge the implementation of Scrum. So to use Scrum, using “The Art of the Possible”, there needs to be skilled ScrumMasters to take on this challenge.

Each individual is trained to be able to assume the following responsibilities: Remove the barriers between development and business (ProductOwner) so the business directly drives development; Teach the business how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum; Improve the lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and empowerment; Improve the productivity of the development team in any way possible; and, Improve the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality is potentially shippable

Jens Ostergaard

Certified Scrum Trainer, Jens Ostergaard has successfully certified more than 10,000 people in OVER 28 countries!

Jens Ostergaard is the founder of the Scrum Training Institute. He is the First Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) and one of the pioneering Certified Scrum Trainers (CST) worldwide. He is also an Agile Developer Consultant who helps organizations understand the fundamentals of Scrum, argue that organizations should keep Scrum as pure as possible until they fully understand the mechanism that drives development forward.

Jens Ostergaard was the first working Scrum Master in Denmark and became a CSM in Edinburgh in 2003. He became a CST through co-training with Ken Schwaber, a co-founder of Scrum, in Copenhagen in 2004. His wealth of experience in the Scrum field has been accentuated by co-training extensively with Jeff Sutherland, the founder of Scrum, providing participants in their training sessions with valuable insights and knowledge from two of the most experienced influential figures in the Scrum community. Jens have successfully certified over 10 000 people (see previous classes on website) and helped numerous companies on there agile journey. He is the longest serving CST, worldwide.

Jens Ostergaard was not only Denmark’s first working Scrum Master but also pioneered in conducting the first public Certified Scrum Master (CSM) classes across numerous regions, including Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Czechia, Australia, New Zealand, Nevada, and Florida, exemplifying his dedication to spreading Scrum knowledge globally.
